Whether you were the kid limping in on crutches, or one of the kids digging through a box of Sharpies to find your favorite color to write your name, signing casts were a childhood staple.
Some people go beyond initials and smiley faces when they have a cast by taking advantage of the canvas real estate to make detailed marker drawings. Below are a few pieces of inspiration if you want your cast to leave a mark.
Lovely Bones

For a more bone-chilling take on cast decoration, this anatomically correct cast utilizes white and dark blue Sharpies to recreate a bone scan over the broken appendage. This is great if Halloween is coming up or if you have an affinity for the macabre.
Starry Night Cast

If you have an eye for impressionism, you may enjoy wearing this cast iteration of Starry Night. Utilizing an array of Sharpie colors, this striking design will ensure your cast is a work of art. If Starry Night isn’t your jam, you could recreate Monet’s Waterlilies, Klimt’s The Kiss, or The Great Wave off Kanagawa.
Black Tie

Don’t let a broken limb stop you from shining at formal affairs. If you have a prom, graduation, or wedding coming up, grab the rhinestones and Sharpie Glitter Markers to make your medical bandages a stylish addition to your ensemble.
Superhuman

Whether you’re a Marvel or DC fan, there are hundreds of superheroes with iconic designs you can lift for your temporary armor. This spin on the Iron Man armor utilized black, red, and orange Sharpies to recreate the iconic Repulsor arms.
Getting a cast is not an inherently enjoyable experience, but if you take inspiration from your school days of signing casts and yearbooks, your cast could become a medium of self-expression that leaves its mark on everyone you meet.
